Agesy Methavert is the result of a collaboration between two families with farming businesses and their cooperative.
The plant will recycle intermediate energy crops (crops planted between two main crops), processing 10,000 tonnes of material a year.
Eventually, 170 Nm³ CH₄/h will be injected into the local gas distribution network.
The project has several aims:
• To contribute to the generation of renewable energy and reduce use of fossil fuels at the local level as part of a shift towards sustainable development.
• To produce digestate rich in fertilising nutrients that will be returned to the soil, partially replacing mineral fertilisers and thus reducing the use of synthetic fertilisers on the project’s partner farms.
• To enable two current employees and their children to move to the family farm.
