Methabraye is an innovative project that brings together 17 agricultural businesses. Processing 30,000 tonnes of feedstock each year, it purifies the biogas produced before liquefying and injecting the resulting biomethane at a site 17 km away. The liquefied biomethane is transported in a lorry equipped with a cryotank. Facts and figures:
• Processes 30,000 tonnes of organic waste a year, primarily livestock waste
• Works with 34 farmers
• Produces 135 Nm³ CH₄/h a year
• Generates 12 GWh a year, enough to power 1,000 households or 47 NGV (natural gas vehicle) buses
• Saves 2,800 tonnes of CO₂ per year
