The Limargue Bioénergie, Sud Segala Bioénergie and Haut Ségala Bioénergie projects were founded by the Fermes de Figeac cooperative. The original aim was to bring together several small farming cooperatives to participate in a shared project. This decision made it possible to divide up certain costs and the design of the project while optimising transport costs.
The plants are almost exclusively fed by locally sourced feedstock (manure, liquid manure, intermediate energy crops) from within a 3 km radius.
In terms of numbers, each plant processes around 20,000 to 25,000 tonnes of material from roughly ten farms using a 500 kW cogeneration motor.
